What You’ll Do

  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures for property acquisitions and leasing.
  • Coordinate the property acquisition process following the established framework.
  • Manage the lease administration for both private and leasehold portfolios.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of state properties and oversee the release of surplus land for government land reform.
  • Maintain effective management of property information systems.
  • Establish and uphold internal controls and reporting systems to meet performance standards.
  • Manage team performance, development, and stakeholder relations.
  • Develop and oversee the operational plan for the directorate, reporting on progress as needed.
  • Compile and submit necessary administrative reports, ensuring quality control.
  • Participate in financial management, contributing to the department’s Annual Financial Statements.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) in Property Valuations, Property Management, Real Estate, LLB, or Town & Regional Planning.
  • Relevant experience in the property sector at a Junior Management or Assistant Director equivalent level in Real Estate Management.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), property-related legislation, and local regulations.
  • Experience or knowledge in town planning.
  • Strong financial skills with a proven ability in budgeting.
  • Familiarity with building inspections, valuation methods, and real estate market trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role.
  • A valid driver’s license.
