What You’ll Do

  • Guide investigations and conduct prosecutions of identified cases.
  • Exercise oversight on decisions to prosecute, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Provide researched opinions and reports to the Head of the SCCU.
  • Manage governance and operations within the SCCU.
  • Monitor and review the strategy and operations of regional offices.
  • Liaise with regional offices and facilitate meetings to ensure alignment.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Oversee employee performance management systems and training initiatives.
  • Promote positive stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

What You’ll Need

  • An LLB degree or a relevant legal qualification.
  • A minimum of ten years’ post-qualification experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
  • Demonstrated competency in acting independently and professionally.
  • Admission as an Attorney or Advocate is an advantage.
  • Excellent advocacy and legal drafting skills.
  • Knowledge of civil and/or criminal procedure.
  • Right of appearance as per the NPA Act, 32 of 1998.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work extended hours.
