What You’ll Do
- Manage the portfolio assigned by the Director, overseeing legal processes and staff management.
- Provide guidance and training to advocates, prosecutors, and relevant stakeholders on complex legal matters.
- Investigate and prosecute cases, ensuring adherence to legal standards and protocols.
- Prepare and present cases in court, including the drafting of charge sheets and other legal documents.
- Study and analyse case dockets related to corruption and criminal matters to determine the course of action.
- Oversee resource allocation and align them with strategic objectives of the division.
- Conduct performance management and professional development for team members.
- Engage with the community and partners in the criminal justice system to promote integration and satisfaction.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB or appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
- At least ten (10) years of post-qualification experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
- Right of appearance as per section 25(2) of the NPA Act, 32 of 1998.
- Strong advocacy and legal drafting skills with a demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Admission as an Attorney/Advocate is an added advantage.
