What You’ll Do

  • Manage the portfolio assigned by the Director, ensuring high standards of performance.
  • Oversee and guide advocates and prosecutors in handling complex legal matters.
  • Investigate and prosecute serious criminal cases, including corruption and fraud.
  • Prepare and present cases in court, including drafting legal documents and arguments.
  • Engage in strategic planning for the division to meet operational objectives.
  • Foster relationships with various stakeholders in the criminal justice system.
  • Promote community involvement and enhance customer satisfaction within legal processes.
  • Assess and manage the performance and development of staff members.

What You’ll Need

  • An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
  • A minimum of ten years’ post-qualification experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
  • Right of appearance as outlined in section 25(2) of the NPA Act, 32 of 1998.
  • Strong advocacy skills and experience in legal drafting.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to think strategically.
