What You’ll Do

• Manage and direct the activities of the regional office to ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee prosecutorial decisions and provide essential legal advice to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal prescripts and organizational policies.
• Promote stakeholder engagement and partnership initiatives.
• Monitor operational performance, identifying deficiencies and implementing improvement plans.
• Conduct specialized litigation in high-profile criminal and civil matters in various courts.
• Analyze case dockets and make informed decisions regarding the institution of proceedings.
• Represent the state’s case in court, including witness examination and case argumentation.
• Prepare legal opinions and conduct research relevant to specialized fields of law.
• Train and guide team members and stakeholders on specialized legal matters.
• Oversee resource allocation in alignment with strategic objectives.

What You’ll Need

• A recognized LLB degree or appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors.
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ post-qualification experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
• Knowledge and experience in strategic and operations management.
• Right of appearance as per section 25(2) of the NPA Act, 32 of 1998.
• Strong advocacy and legal drafting skills, with good knowledge of civil and/or criminal procedure.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational leadership skills.
• Ability to think strategically and innovatively while managing resources effectively.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work extended hours.
