What You’ll Do

  • Manage and deliver agricultural extension and advisory services.
  • Establish and monitor extension forums for local farmers.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of extension programmes.
  • Participate in planning and coordinating agricultural projects with stakeholders.
  • Oversee agricultural interventions and support land reform initiatives.
  • Develop and implement relevant policies based on stakeholder input.
  • Monitor and manage the strategic direction for land reform and rural development.
  • Address challenges facing the agricultural sector and implement solutions.
  • Facilitate mentorship and support for graduates in the agricultural field.
  • Create information services for participants in mentorship programmes.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 plus a recognised BSc in Agricultural Science, Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, or BTech in Agriculture/Rural Development (NQF Level 7).
  • A postgraduate degree will be advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience at Assistant Director level in relevant fields.
  • Strong knowledge of leadership, financial management, and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and manage time effectively.
