What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the installation and central management of anti-virus software on departmental devices.
  • Maintain Web Security Gateways and unified threat management appliances across all offices.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive IT security policies tailored for departmental needs.
  • Facilitate the introduction of biometric security solutions to enhance access control.
  • Compile and manage an IT Risk Register in collaboration with the Risk Management unit.
  • Conduct audits and implement recommendations to minimise IT risks and improve compliance.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including subject matter experts and the State Security Agency, for vulnerability assessments.
  • Attend IT Security Summits and workshops to stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Compile quarterly reports on risk management activities and security improvements.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate along with an NQF 6 qualification in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in Information Technology, including three years in a supervisory role.
  • A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
  • Strong knowledge of IT strategic management, financial management, and HR practices.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
