What You’ll Do
- Oversee and facilitate business compliance inspections to ensure adherence to consumer laws.
- Conduct thorough investigations on consumer complaints and business practices within the province.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with service providers and industry regulators to protect consumer rights.
- Develop and implement policies and strategies that enhance compliance with consumer protection legislation.
- Manage the resources of the sub-directorate efficiently to support operational goals.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 and an NQF 6 qualification in Law, Management, Economics, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- At least five years of relevant experience in the consumer inspectorate and investigation, including three years in a supervisory role.
- A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for individuals with disabilities).
- In-depth knowledge of consumer legislation such as the Consumer Protection Act and National Credit Act.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with proficiency in presentation skills.
- Computer literacy and a good understanding of public service regulations and management principles.
