What You’ll Do
- Manage and facilitate the handling of consumer complaints and adjudications.
- Oversee the prohibition of unfair business practices within the province.
- Mediate and negotiate with suppliers on behalf of consumers, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation.
- Represent consumers in consumer court activities and provide necessary secretariat services.
- Manage resources and lead the sub-directorate effectively.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 qualification plus an NQF 6 qualification in Law, Management, Economics, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- At least five years of relevant functional experience in consumer inspection and investigation, with a minimum of three years at a supervisory level.
- A valid driver’s license (exemptions for persons with disabilities apply).
- In-depth knowledge of consumer legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act and the National Credit Act.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in report writing and computer literacy.
