What You’ll Do
- Manage the national budget process and oversee the budget reform programme.
- Coordinate the Ministers’ Committee on the Budget and provide strategic fiscal advice.
- Produce key financial documents, including the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement and Estimates of National Expenditure.
- Ensure alignment of revenue distribution among national, provincial, and local governments.
- Oversee Public Private Partnership (PPP) infrastructure procurement in accordance with regulations.
- Facilitate international development cooperation agreements and align Official Development Assistance (ODA) funding with the budget process.
- Conduct public sector remuneration analysis and communicate findings to enhance understanding of wage implications.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of Grade 12 and a postgraduate qualification at NQF level 8 in Finance or Economics; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- At least 8 years of experience in a senior managerial role focused on public finance, budgeting, or fiscal management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of donor funding principles and legislative frameworks, including the PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
- Proven analytical skills to gather and interpret information for policy development.
- Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme prior to appointment.
