About the Role
The National Treasury is seeking a dedicated and skilled Deputy Director: Fiscal Outreach to join its team in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Lead the coordination of the Fiscal Outreach campaign in collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Organize public and media engagement events to support campaign strategies.
- Facilitate media training sessions for senior National Treasury officials.
- Develop and distribute campaign content strategically to reach target audiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Track and report on campaign progress through quarterly updates.
- Manage external service providers to ensure project targets are met effectively.
- Assist in editing the Budget Review and Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement.
- Monitor the impact of outreach initiatives and assess risks and opportunities.
- Conduct surveys to evaluate budget and fiscal literacy among stakeholders.
- Implement social media monitoring to identify gaps in fiscal understanding.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 qualification, along with an Honours Degree in Economics, Finance, Journalism, or Development Studies (NQF Level 8).
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial communications, business journalism, or economic research.
- In-depth knowledge of public finance, budget processes, and government policy.
- Strong project management skills and experience in public outreach programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse audiences.
