What You’ll Do

  • Manage financial revenue and expenditure within the district to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Oversee supply chain management and accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including revenue collection and expenditure incurred.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on revenue and expenditure procedures.
  • Conduct strategic assessments for tariff determinations, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks.
  • Manage personnel within the sub-directorate, focusing on performance and development.
  • Establish effective communication channels to facilitate collaboration and reporting.
  • Compile administrative reports and serve on relevant task teams as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 plus a recognized Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Financial Accounting at the Assistant Director level.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
  • Understanding of financial accounting principles and public service legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
