What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the management of the Agricultural office and its activities.
  • Implement comprehensive farmer support programs to enhance agricultural productivity.
  • Manage agricultural developments and provide support for IDP and LED planning.
  • Plan and implement Natural Resource Management projects to sustain local ecosystems.
  • Monitor and support poverty alleviation and household food security initiatives.
  • Provide advisory support to strengthen the capacity of local farmers.
  • Ensure effective participation of farmers in disaster and risk management programs.
  • Monitor and manage agricultural projects for effective service delivery.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate along with a recognized BSc/Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management-related experience and knowledge of agricultural activities.
  • Compulsory registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
  • Strong understanding of extension methodologies and land reform.
  • Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Public Service Regulations (PSR), and Labour Relations Act (LRA).
  • Excellent project management, strategic planning, and report writing skills.
  • Proficient in computer literacy, especially with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work under pressure.
