About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Dental Therapist for the Pomeroy Community Health Centre in the picturesque town of Pomeroy, KwaZulu-Natal. What You’ll Do
- Manage and treat dental patients with a focus on quality oral health care.
- Provide a range of dental services, including restorations, fillings, and extractions.
- Ensure appropriate patient referrals when necessary.
- Implement health policies and guidelines related to infection control and waste management.
- Conduct oral health education sessions for patients and community groups.
- Participate in community outreach programs and oral health initiatives.
- Supervise junior staff members and ensure proper staff performance monitoring.
- Compile daily statistics and submit monthly reports as required.
- Identify serious oral diseases and abnormalities for timely intervention.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) / Standard 10.
- Bachelor of Dental Therapy.
- Registration certificate with HPCSA as a Dental Therapist.
- Current registration with HPCSA.
- Valid driver’s licence, Code EB or C1.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and maintain proper case management.
- Knowledge of therapeutic and preventive dental processes.
- Supervisory and team-building skills.
- Experience in community health initiatives is advantageous.
