What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement an annual Infection Control plan for the hospital and clinics.
• Conduct Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) audits to identify gaps and formulate improvement plans.
• Facilitate and review the appointment of IPC Committee members and conduct regular meetings.
• Provide ongoing support to the Hospital Management team to maintain high standards of infection control.
• Advise management on identified infection control risks and recommend solutions.
• Monitor and evaluate IPC practices, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
• Conduct training sessions and develop materials for staff on IPC practices.
• Oversee the procurement and management of IPC resources and equipment.
• Compile and present regular reports on IPC activities and compliance to management.

What You’ll Need

• A Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery) allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Current registration with the SANC, valid until 2026.
• A minimum of 7 years of appropriate experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse.
• Knowledge of the Health Act, Nursing Act, and public service policies.
• Strong understanding of Infection Prevention and Control standards and patient safety.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer literacy to enhance service delivery.
• Ability to plan, organize, and supervise work effectively in a team setting.
