What You’ll Do

  • Conduct advanced veterinary laboratory diagnostic testing to ensure accurate results.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of Veterinary Technologists in the laboratory.
  • Ensure data accuracy and up-to-date information is maintained in databases (e.g., LIMS).
  • Act as the Quality Control Officer, maintaining high standards in lab processes.
  • Stay informed on relevant policies, procedures, and technological advancements to improve laboratory services.
  • Perform various administrative functions related to laboratory operations.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 and a relevant postgraduate NQF level 6 qualification in Veterinary Technology or a recognized equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in veterinary diagnostics.
  • Registration with the South African Veterinary Council is mandatory.
  • A valid driver’s license (exceptions apply for individuals with disabilities).
  • Strong knowledge of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
  • Proficient computer skills and quality management capabilities.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills to lead a team effectively.
