What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and implement scientific methodologies and policies related to agricultural practices
  • Provide strategic leadership on technical scientific matters within the department
  • Develop and coordinate databases and procedures to enhance research capabilities
  • Manage research and development projects to ensure alignment with departmental objectives
  • Facilitate human capital development initiatives to nurture new talent in the agricultural sector
  • Handle procurement processes for the Sub-Directorate to support ongoing projects

What You’ll Need

  • A Diploma (NQF 6) in Animal Science or Animal Nutrition
  • At least six years of post-qualification technical (scientific) experience in the agricultural sector or animal research environment
  • Compulsory registration with SACNASP as a Certificated Natural Scientist
  • Strong competencies in programme and project management, scientific methodologies, and research development
  • Excellent technical report writing and data analysis skills
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively
  • A valid driver’s license
