What You’ll Do

• Manage technical services alongside engineers and technicians to ensure effective project execution.
• Conduct safety evaluations and compliance checks according to statutory and regulatory standards.
• Assess existing technical manuals and designs, integrating new technologies for improved efficacy.
• Oversee infrastructure rehabilitation projects, from planning to execution, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Produce detailed reports on infrastructure assessments and recommendations for further action.
• Supervise and mentor candidate technicians and technologists, fostering their professional growth.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to support strategic planning and resource management in the department.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electrical Engineering, recognised by SAQA.
• A minimum of six years’ post-qualification experience as an Engineering Technologist/Technician.
• Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist.
• Valid code B driver’s license (valid and unexpired) is required.
• Proven experience in project management, infrastructure assessment, and site supervision.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement, legislation, and contract administration.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours and travel extensively within the Eastern and Western Cape.
