What You’ll Do

• Supervise the implementation of vaccination programs for controlled animal diseases.
• Oversee disease surveillance activities in line with the Animal Diseases Act.
• Manage primary animal health care initiatives to enhance livestock health.
• Coordinate national and provincial disease surveillance in the state veterinary area.
• Implement brucellosis and tuberculosis eradication schemes effectively.
• Manage dip-tanks and oversee dipping programs for livestock.
• Supervise inventory of dip-stuff, veterinary work materials, and vaccines.
• Participate in the logistical movement of buffaloes within and outside the Mpumalanga Province.
• Lead human resources management and transport logistics for veterinary services.
• Implement performance management systems for staff and report outcomes to your line manager.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 certificate along with a recognized Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Animal Health or a related field.
• Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) as an Animal Health Technician.
• Relevant supervisory experience is an added advantage.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Animal Diseases Act and related veterinary legislation.
• Strong understanding of animal health, disease control, and animal welfare principles.
• Proficiency in computer literacy and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work outside of regular hours when necessary.
