What You’ll Do

• Supervise the implementation of vaccination programs for controlled animal diseases.
• Oversee disease surveillance activities in accordance with the Animal Diseases Act.
• Manage Primary Animal Health Care initiatives within the state veterinary area.
• Lead the conduction of national and provincial disease surveillance efforts.
• Oversee the Brucellosis and Tuberculosis Eradication Schemes in your area.
• Manage dip-tanks and oversee dipping programs.
• Supervise veterinary work materials, vaccine inventory, and dip-stuff.
• Collaborate on the movement of buffaloes within or out of Mpumalanga Province.
• Supervise human resources and transport logistics.
• Implement performance management and report to the line manager.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12 and a recognised Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Animal Health or a related field.
• Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) as an Animal Health Technician.
• Relevant supervisory experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the Animal Diseases Act, Veterinary and Para-veterinary Professions Act, and other related legislation.
• Strong understanding of animal health, disease control, and animal welfare.
• Proficiency in computer literacy and good report writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work after hours when necessary.
