What You’ll Do

• Supervise the implementation of vaccination programmes as per the Animal Diseases Act.
• Oversee disease surveillance activities for controlled diseases.
• Manage Primary Animal Health Care services and related activities.
• Implement the Brucellosis and Tuberculosis Eradication Schemes.
• Manage dip-tanks and oversee dipping programmes.
• Supervise inventory of dip-stuff, veterinary work materials, and vaccines.
• Participate in the movement of buffaloes within or outside Mpumalanga Province.
• Oversee human resources and transport logistics related to animal health initiatives.
• Implement the Performance Management Development System for team members and report to the line manager.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12 plus a recognized Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Animal Health or a related field.
• Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) as an Animal Health Technician.
• Relevant supervisory experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of the Animal Diseases Act, Veterinary and Para-veterinary Professions Act, and other relevant legislation.
• Strong understanding of animal health, disease control, and animal welfare practices.
• Proficient computer skills and excellent communication (both written and verbal) abilities.
• Good report writing and administrative skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work outside of regular hours when required.
