The Consumer Officer position with the Department of Consumer Affairs is based in Modimolle, within the beautiful Waterberg District of Limpopo province. What You’ll Do
- Provide administrative support to the Consumer Affairs offices.
- Conduct compliance inspections to ensure adherence to consumer laws.
- Investigate consumer complaints thoroughly and impartially.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation regarding investigations and findings.
- Engage in consumer education initiatives to promote awareness of rights and responsibilities.
- Liaise with consumers, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to resolve issues.
- Administer and ensure compliance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Legal Practice Council Act (LPCA).
What You’ll Need
- An NQF 6 qualification in Business Management, Economics, Public Administration, Commercial Law, Business Administration, Law, or equivalent as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in the Consumer Affairs field, particularly in compliance with LCPA and CPS legislation.
- A valid driver’s license (applicable exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong knowledge of relevant consumer legislation and public sector policies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven negotiation, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Competence in report writing and computer literacy.
- Effective planning, organizing, and public speaking skills.
- Attention to detail and project management skills.
