What You’ll Do

• Engage with communities to raise awareness about departmental projects and initiatives.
• Provide social facilitation for programs funded by the department.
• Identify and connect with relevant stakeholders in the community.
• Act as a liaison between the department and community beneficiaries.
• Conduct stakeholder engagements and provide feedback to both the community and the department.
• Support departmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring community involvement.
• Conduct awareness campaigns to sensitise communities about rural development.
• Coordinate the implementation of rural projects and link beneficiaries with various stakeholders.
• Apply relevant legislation that supports rural development initiatives.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12 certificate; a National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Community Development, Agricultural Extension, Public Administration, Public Management, or a relevant qualification (NQF level 7).
• Experience in community engagement is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of community dynamics.
• Ability to identify challenges and propose viable solutions while gaining community support.
• Knowledge of government prescripts, such as Batho Pele principles.
• Strong organisational skills and computer literacy.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
