What You’ll Do

  • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors, ensuring accurate report writing and statistics.
  • Assist unit and operational managers in the management and enhancement of clinic functions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal nursing care.
  • Advocate for and implement preventive and promotive health initiatives for patients and the community.
  • Manage and maintain the clinic’s resources, ensuring efficient use of human, material, and financial assets.
  • Ensure adherence to the National Co-Standards Ideal Clinic Realisation and Maintenance Framework.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients’ ongoing health within the clinic.
  • Implement health programs in line with PHC package guidelines and monitor their performance.
  • Collect and validate program-specific data in a timely manner.
  • Encourage professional development among staff to enhance expertise and patient care.
  • Refer patients to appropriate services according to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintain the security and proper use of medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical stock.
  • Participate in clinical audits and data validation processes to meet operational targets.

What You’ll Need

  • A Basic R425 Degree/Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or an equivalent qualification for registration with the SANC as a professional nurse.
  • A post-basic qualification in Clinical Assessment, Treatment, and Care, with a duration of at least one year.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant nursing experience after registration with SANC in General Nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable legislation, scientific nursing principles, and guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on problem-solving and teamwork.
  • Good organizational and planning skills, with the ability to formulate patient care policies.
  • Familiarity with health programs at the PHC level and data management processes.
