About the Role
The North West Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport is seeking a Chief Director: Sport and Recreation to lead its Sport and Recreation Unit from its Head Office in Mmabatho. What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership for the Sport and Recreation Unit.
- Develop and implement the Provincial Sport and Recreation Management Policy.
- Oversee the creation of the Strategic Plan and Annual Performance Plan.
- Manage community sport initiatives, school sport programs, and performance sports.
- Monitor and evaluate sport and recreation activities to ensure effectiveness.
- Support the functionality and sustainability of Recreation Centres and Trading Entities.
- Engage in stakeholder management and align business strategies with departmental priorities.
- Prepare comprehensive performance reports on a regular basis.
- Ensure high-level interaction and communication with various stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate is essential.
- A Degree, Advanced Diploma, or B-Tech at NQF Level 7 in Management/Administration.
- A qualification in Sport Administration/Science is advantageous.
- At least five years of relevant experience at a Senior Management level.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Completion of an SMS pre-entry program and obtaining a Nyukela Certificate is mandatory.
- Strong leadership, management, and communication skills are crucial.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a commitment to service delivery innovation.
