About the Role
The Department of Transport and Public Works is seeking a Chief Director for its Provincial Office located in Cape Town, Western Cape. What You’ll Do
- Manage and oversee the implementation of departmental services and programmes at provincial and district levels.
- Coordinate land acquisition and development support services.
- Provide property management and spatial planning services at the provincial level.
- Ensure effective project management and submission of reports on programmes and projects.
- Facilitate the implementation of national development support and strategic land acquisition initiatives.
- Oversee financial and corporate support services for the Provincial Office.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve community participation and planning.
- Monitor and report on departmental programmes and projects to ensure compliance and efficiency.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior managerial role.
- Proven experience in project management and corporate governance.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong problem-solving and monitoring skills.
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels, including within intergovernmental relations contexts.
- Willingness to travel and a commitment to customer care.
