What You’ll Do

  • Oversee financial management to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  • Manage bookkeeping activities and ensure transparency in all accounts.
  • Monitor financial functions, including payables, receivables, and lease management.
  • Administer salary and payroll functions to guarantee timely payments.
  • Lead financial legislative reporting and budget performance services.
  • Develop and implement financial management policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and direction in identifying policy gaps and establishing goals.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and financial legislation.
  • Facilitate effective governance and risk management frameworks.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.
  • Drive the achievement of strategic objectives and resource allocation for priority projects.

What You’ll Need

  • Pre-entry Certificate for SMS endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG).
  • Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Financial Management, Management Accounting, Accounting, or Commerce (NQF 7).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior managerial (SMS) level role within the finance field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial legislation, including PFMA, MFMA, and GAAP.
  • Proficient in leadership, project management, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
