What You’ll Do
- Analyze and evaluate information critically to assess the risk associated with individual offenders.
- Decide on the appropriateness of release into the community and set conditions for such releases.
- Oversee hearings to assess risk and collaborate with parole members to reach sound decisions.
- Facilitate the preparation of reports and draft structured summaries for decisions.
- Represent the Parole Board effectively at hearings and public events.
- Engage in administrative tasks related to hearings, revocations, and public education on parole processes.
What You’ll Need
- A recognized NQF level 7 qualification in Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a management or decision-making role.
- Strong capability in evidence-based decision-making and critical analysis of complex information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- High standards of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to fairness and community good.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, along with a proactive attitude towards professional development.
