What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate and conduct vetting fieldwork investigations in the department.
  • Manage vetting requests and confirm documentation completeness.
  • Assess risk profiles for each vetting request.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with relevant references.
  • Analyze and ensure the quality of information provided by business units.
  • Compile and submit reports and vetting files to management and the National Intelligence Authority (NIAA).
  • Implement policies, procedures, and regulations related to vetting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage human, physical, and financial resources within the unit.
  • Coach and guide staff on compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification in Law, Policing, Social Science, or Security Management at NQF 6, recognized by SAQA.
  • Three years of experience at an SAO/Supervisory Level in a vetting environment.
  • Completion of vetting training courses offered by the State Security Agency (SSA) or Defence Intelligence (DI).
  • Knowledge of Minimum Information Security Standards and Public Service Regulations.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Promotion of Administration of Justice Act and the Criminal Procedure Act.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work extended hours.
  • Required skills: confidentiality, time management, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
