What You’ll Do

• Facilitate the implementation and enhancement of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) processes.
• Coordinate technical support for forest management strategies in the provinces.
• Assist in the development and review of forest growth and yield models for commercial plantations.
• Monitor and assess state forest plantations based on sustainable management principles.
• Oversee the implementation of risk mitigation plans for state forests.
• Support the development of human resource and technical capacity in the forestry sector.
• Promote job creation through various initiatives, including the EPWP.
• Engage with sector organizations and participate in forestry development forums.

What You’ll Need

• National Diploma (NQF6) in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in Forestry Management or Commercial Forestry.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the National Forest Act and National Veld and Forest Fire Act.
• Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial management and project management.
• Ability to lead teams and handle challenging situations effectively.
• Valid Driving License and willingness to travel as required.
