What You’ll Do
- Assist in managing and planning research projects that enhance government communication effectiveness.
- Provide research advice and support to GCIS and its clients regarding communication strategies.
- Liaise professionally with service providers and clients to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
- Design qualitative and quantitative data collection instruments and administer appropriate research tools.
- Conduct quantitative data analysis using software such as SPSS and MS Excel.
- Analyze qualitative data and interpret research findings to prepare comprehensive reports.
- Present research results at various stakeholder meetings, both internal and external.
- Contribute to general managerial tasks, including financial management, to optimize resource use.
- Collaborate effectively within the Directorate and GCIS project teams to achieve common goals.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma (NQF 6) in Communication Sciences, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, or Statistics, recognized by SAQA.
- A relevant post-graduate qualification with a research component is an added advantage.
- At least three years of relevant experience, including one year at a supervisory level in research or communication research.
- Strong general knowledge and interest in current affairs and government operations.
- Proven competence in research design and analytical skills for qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis software (e.g., SPSS).
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, while managing pressure effectively.
