The Department of Public Service and Administration is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director: Performance Management based in Cape Town. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the submission of performance agreements for SMS and non-SMS members.
- Manage mid-term and annual performance moderations for staff.
- Ensure compliance with performance management documentation requirements.
- Facilitate the implementation of pay progression and merit awards.
- Oversee the management of probation processes for staff members.
- Maintain and update the PMDS online system to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct quality checks on PMDS documents in line with established directives.
- Facilitate training sessions to empower line managers and staff in performance evaluations.
- Address and manage dispute resolution processes related to performance assessments.
- Monitor and support poor performance improvement plans and update relevant databases.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma (NQF 6) in Human Resource Management, Public Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in performance management for both SMS and non-SMS members.
- Proficiency in MS Teams and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of the SMS handbook, Public Service Regulations, and relevant Human Resource prescripts.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with the PERSAL system and financial administration.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A valid Driver’s license is advantageous.
