What You’ll Do
- Provide inputs to various departmental reports and processes, including those for financial management teams.
- Collaborate in developing and reviewing the Internal Audit and Audit Committee frameworks.
- Analyze the impact of internal audits on municipal operations and recommend necessary remedial actions.
- Conduct needs analyses to identify support requirements for municipalities.
- Monitor audit findings and oversee the implementation of remedial action plans.
- Assist the deputy director with financial management tasks, including unit budget management.
What You’ll Need
- A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 7) in Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing, Internal Auditing, Cost Management, or Cost Accounting, as recognized by SAQA.
- Membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIA SA).
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing, or similar fields.
- At least 2 years of experience in local government or Provincial Treasuries in a similar role.
- Strong values such as accountability, discretion, and trustworthiness.
