What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement VOCMA policies and strategies effectively.
  • Integrate marginalized water users in decision-making processes regarding water tariffs and allocations.
  • Establish and oversee water resource management structures in collaboration with various government levels.
  • Ensure the effective functioning of Water Management Institutions.
  • Create guidelines for water management institutions and perform regulatory oversight.
  • Review and approve business plans of water management institutions.
  • Support the transformation initiatives of VOCMA and facilitate access to programs for disadvantaged water users.
  • Supervise staff in line with departmental policies and procedures.

What You’ll Need

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Four to six years of relevant experience in intergovernmental relations and governance.
  • Proven ability to interpret and implement policies and strategies.
  • Experience in project and program management within the water sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the National Water Act (1998) is essential.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
