What You’ll Do

  • Provide state forest land management services, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Update and maintain the land register for state forest land.
  • Assess and evaluate applications for public works developments on released state forest land.
  • Manage the facilitation and negotiation of lease agreements.
  • Develop specifications for lease agreements and draft legal documents.
  • Address land reform issues and mediate disputes regarding land boundaries and use.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Public Works and Rural Development, on land-related matters.
  • Monitor and manage compliance with forest lease agreements and third-party contracts.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma (NQF 6) in Forestry, Natural Sciences or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in Forestry or a relevant area.
  • Knowledge of the National Forests Act, 1998, and related environmental legislation.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and report writing.
  • Leadership and planning skills, with the ability to work under pressure and in a team.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel.
