What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement targeted consumer awareness strategies for the district.
  • Provide technical assistance to consumers in resolving complaints.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient administrative system for managing consumer protection initiatives.
  • Supervise resources within the division, ensuring alignment with legislative and departmental policies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance and planning imperatives.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Senior Certificate and a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Consumer Science, Consumer Affairs, Law, or a relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a supervisory level or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Eastern Cape Consumer Protection Act, Consumer Protection Act, Public Finance Management Act, and Public Service Act.
  • Excellent problem analysis, communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Proficiency in time management, planning and organizing, and report writing.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this role.
