What You’ll Do

  • Conduct daily media monitoring and analysis, producing insightful reports.
  • Draft and disseminate engaging press releases to various media outlets.
  • Write articles for departmental publications and manage social media content.
  • Compile media coverage reports following campaigns and events.
  • Organize and facilitate media interviews, including inviting media personnel to events.
  • Maintain an updated media database and attendance register post-events.
  • Implement media plans for various campaigns and departmental events.
  • Plan and manage strategic departmental events in line with policies.
  • Engage and mobilize stakeholders for departmental activities and enhance the brand.
  • Develop and monitor an annual events calendar and associated budgets.
  • Evaluate event outcomes and track progress on stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide written contributions to departmental reports on events and outreach programs.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 qualification plus a recognized Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced National Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Events Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a communications environment.
  • Strong managerial skills in planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in project and program management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy, particularly in MS Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure, travel, and manage irregular hours.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.
