About the Role

What You’ll Do
- Provide technical support on veterinary programmes and animal health initiatives.
- Coordinate disease surveillance, prevention, and control activities.
- Supervise para-veterinary technical staff to ensure compliance with standards.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and administrative processes related to animal health.
- Monitor adherence to veterinary legislation and quality standards.
- Compile comprehensive technical and management reports for stakeholders.
- Liaise with farmers, industry stakeholders, municipalities, and other government departments.
- Develop and implement veterinary policies and strategic plans.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 and a recognized Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Animal Health or a related field.
- Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in veterinary services or animal health.
- Experience in supervision, technical support, or programme management is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of relevant animal health legislation and public service regulations.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in report writing and effective communication.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to work under pressure.
