What You’ll Do

  • Conduct research and comparative analyses to identify best practices and emerging trends in the informal business sector.
  • Design, review, and enhance programs and models that support the development of micro businesses.
  • Support the implementation of the National Informal Business Upliftment Strategy through application assessments and funding recommendations.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements and provide advisory support on policies and procedures for effective program delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance through assessments and compliance tracking.
  • Develop and maintain information systems for beneficiaries and programs, ensuring accurate data management.
  • Draft and manage correspondence, reports, and presentations, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration, Business Management, Development Studies, Project Management, Economics, or Development Finance.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in the informal sector, local economic development, project management, or micro business support.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing policies, frameworks, and governance instruments.
  • Knowledge of the National Development Plan and the National Integrated Small Enterprise Development framework.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client orientation and service delivery.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and a valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
