What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and lead staff in the workshop, ensuring designs and repairs meet job specifications and standards.
  • Conduct technical investigations and surveys to develop effective repair solutions for plant, equipment, and maintenance issues.
  • Repair and install mechanical equipment at health facilities, adhering to all relevant standards.
  • Maintain a register of work completed, control job cards, and compile reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, requirements, and regulations.
  • Assist the Assistant Director, PM & Facility Management with administrative duties and progress reports.
  • Manage procurement and control of maintenance materials and equipment.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate trade test certificate in mechanical, refrigeration, or electrical.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience after obtaining the relevant trade test certificate.
  • Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
  • Ability to perform standby duties and work overtime as needed.
  • Strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 and relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in fault-finding and repair down to the component level.
  • Competency in practical, hands-on work as well as computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong report-writing, conflict management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of managing a workshop and staff members, including all maintenance facets.
