What You’ll Do
- Provide regulatory support in line with the Animal Health Diseases Act.
- Implement disease control measures and assist in animal health assessments.
- Support the State Veterinarian with disease control, reproduction, and production improvement.
- Collect samples for testing and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
- Deliver extension services to animal owners on best practices in animal health.
- Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining databases and reporting.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification at NQF level 6 in Animal Health or equivalent.
- Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council as an Animal Health Technician.
- A valid driver’s license (unless you have a disability that prevents driving).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Time management skills and a thorough understanding of the Animal Diseases Act, Animal Identification Act, and Meat Safety Act.
- Proficiency in computer skills and report writing.
