What You’ll Do
- Provide regulatory support services in line with the Animal Health Diseases Act.
- Implement effective disease control measures to safeguard animal health.
- Assist the State Veterinarian with disease control, animal reproduction, and production advancement.
- Collect samples and enforce compliance with animal health regulations.
- Deliver extension services to animal owners, educating them on health management.
- Populate databases and compile monthly and quarterly reports for review.
- Perform administrative functions to support the overall objectives of the department.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 certificate and an NQF level 6 qualification in Animal Health or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council as an Animal Health Technician is mandatory.
- A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of the Animal Diseases Act and related legislation.
- Proficiency in computer applications and report writing skills.
