What You’ll Do

• Provide regulatory support in line with the Animal Health Diseases Act.
• Implement disease control measures and assist in animal health assessments.
• Support the State Veterinarian with disease control, reproduction, and production improvement.
• Collect samples for testing and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
• Deliver extension services to animal owners on best practices in animal health.
• Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining databases and reporting.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification at NQF level 6 in Animal Health or equivalent.
• Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council as an Animal Health Technician.
• A valid driver’s license (unless you have a disability that prevents driving).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Time management skills and a thorough understanding of the Animal Diseases Act, Animal Identification Act, and Meat Safety Act.
• Proficiency in computer skills and report writing.
