What You’ll Do

• Conduct animal disease surveillance and monitoring activities.
• Implement disease control measures and assist with veterinary regulatory inspections.
• Test animals for tuberculosis (TB) and other diseases.
• Provide support in wildlife disease investigations and research.
• Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines under veterinary supervision.
• Assist during disease outbreaks and emergencies involving animals.
• Perform basic diagnostic tests and prepare samples for laboratories.
• Educate farmers and animal owners on disease prevention and responsible care.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12 and a recognized BSc Agriculture (Animal Health) Degree or a National Diploma in Animal Health (SAQA recognized).
• Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) as an Animal Health Technician.
• A minimum of one year of relevant post-qualification experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of the Animal Diseases Act and veterinary regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
