The Department of Public Works is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual for the position of Admin Officer: National Youth Service (EPWP) based in the vibrant city of Durban. The Admin Officer will be responsible for a variety of administrative functions that ensure the smooth running of the EPWP unit. What You’ll Do
- Provide administrative support for stakeholder management in the EPWP unit
- Participate in bid specification and evaluation committees to ensure compliance with EPWP requirements
- Prepare logistics for the recruitment and exit of National Youth Service learners
- Develop and maintain an accurate database of beneficiaries’ records
- Compile and communicate training needs identified for NYS learners
- Prepare status reports on project information and meeting minutes
- Conduct project site visits for monitoring and data collection
- Organize logistics for EPWP workshops and graduation ceremonies
- Engage in capacity-building workshops to ensure compliance with EPWP standards
- Manage and improve EPWP reporting and data integrity
- Compile project data according to reporting standards for the EPWP Reporting System
- Submit monthly progress reports and maintain files for audit purposes
- Provide financial administration support and general supervision of employees
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) or National Diploma in Public Administration or related field
- Relevant working experience in an administration role
- A valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of labour-intensive construction methods and the National Youth Service
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer literacy and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent project administration and management capabilities
- Personal attributes: resourceful, creative, trustworthy, assertive, hard-working, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently
