What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the procedure.
  • Calibrate and manipulate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of specific areas, including the abdomen, pelvis, heart, and developing fetus.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists with specialized ultrasound-guided procedures, providing vital support during diagnostics.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage examination schedules efficiently.
  • Ensure all ultrasound equipment is sanitized and in good working condition, monitoring supply levels to maintain operational efficiency.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in the relevant field.
  • Grade 1: No experience required post-registration; community service experience counts.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience after HPCSA registration.
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience after HPCSA registration.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical theory, ethical practices in healthcare, and current health regulations and policies.
  • Excellent skills in consultation, examination, clinical assessment, and treatment procedures.
