What You’ll Do

• Effectively apply sterilisation processes and techniques for medical instruments, linen, and supplies.
• Promote and adhere to infection control and health and safety regulations.
• Check, decontaminate, pack, and sterilise medical instruments and other supplies.
• Assist with cleaning and testing of sterilisation equipment, including autoclaves and disinfectant washers.
• Maintain sterilisation equipment in optimal working condition and ensure resources are used cost-effectively.
• Ensure surgical instrument trays are packed and marked correctly for efficient use.
• Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels, reporting any lost instruments or equipment.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum educational qualification of General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7).
• Relevant experience in a Central Sterilisation Service Department.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of disinfection, decontamination, and sterilisation processes.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and night duties.
• Flexibility to rotate within the CSSD department.
