What You’ll Do

• Provide efficient roadside to bedside emergency care within defined time frames.
• Utilize communication tools to ensure safe patient care protocols.
• Complete manual and electronic patient care reports as well as trip authority log sheets.
• Maintain emergency vehicles and equipment to ensure readiness.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, other services, and the public regarding patient care.
• Support your supervisor and actively participate in personal well-being initiatives.

What You’ll Need

• Successful completion of the Intermediate Life Support (ILS) course for Grade 3, or Basic Life Support (BLS) course for Grade 1, allowing for registration with the HPCSA.
• Valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as either an Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA) or Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA).
• A valid code C1 driver’s license and professional driver’s permit (PrDP).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a solid understanding of emergency care protocols.
• Physical and mental fitness to perform the inherent demands of the job.
