About the Opportunity

The University of the Free State is offering two prestigious Postdoctoral Research Fellowships within the Department of Childhood Education, Faculty of Education. This fellowship is designed to advance research in Early Childhood Development (ECD) through innovative, interdisciplinary, and community-based approaches. Located at the Bloemfontein South Campus, this is a unique chance to be part of a leading research team.

Key Responsibilities

– Conduct cutting-edge research in Early Childhood Development and Learning.
– Publish at least three DHET-accredited journal articles annually.
– Participate in transdisciplinary and community-based ECD projects.
– Initiate and secure funding for research projects.
– Engage in academic activities within the Faculty and Department.

Requirements/Qualifications

– PhD in a relevant field obtained within the last five years.
– Strong academic record and proven research output.
– Ability to conduct full-time research.
– Willingness to relocate to UFS, with a residential requirement of 80% on campus.
– Must not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.

Benefits

– Annual stipend of R270,000.
– Research fund of R30,000 per year.
