What You’ll Do
- Conduct vehicle checks after each trip to ensure safety and compliance.
- Issue trip authorities and ensure all trips are properly authorized.
- Oversee the coordination of trips for cost-effective transport solutions.
- Manage the issuance of vehicles and the safe keeping of car keys and petrol cards.
- Maintain accurate records of petrol slips and invoices, and renew petrol cards as needed.
- Monitor the expiration dates of drivers’ licenses and Professional Driving Permits (PDP).
- Prepare monthly reports on fleet performance and attend management meetings.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and well-maintained, planning for regular servicing and inspections.
- Assist in the training and development of staff, including performance evaluations and leave management.
- Facilitate communication and mentoring within the transport team.
What You’ll Need
- A Senior/Grade 12 certificate.
- A three-year recognized qualification in Public Administration or Fleet Management, with at least 2 years of experience in the transport environment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of relevant transport policies and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and financial management skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to plan and organize effectively.
- Capacity to work independently under pressure and willingness to work long hours.
