What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and maintain the Government fleet at the district level, ensuring optimal operation.
  • Register new GG users with the relevant documentation and maintain the motor driver’s licenses register.
  • Verify trip authorities and ensure compliance with prescribed transport circulars.
  • Record all trips in logbooks and ensure monthly submission of signed logbooks to Head Office.
  • Compile and submit monthly utilization reports and verify expenditure with invoices.
  • Manage daily fleet operations, including coordinating vehicle inspections and maintenance.
  • Allocate pool vehicles efficiently and monitor their usage.
  • Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, serviced, and securely parked, including organizing cleaning and repairs.
  • Administer and verify the use of rental vehicles, managing applications and inspections.
  • Supervise staff, allocate duties, and participate in recruitment and performance assessments.

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate (or equivalent) and a valid Driver’s license.
  • 6-10 years of clerical experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Public Service Act, PFMA, and Treasury Regulations.
  • Familiarity with Department of Transport policies and procedures.
  • Excellent financial skills and ability to interpret prescripts.
  • Strong organizational skills, report writing abilities, and interpersonal communication in two official languages.
