About the Role
The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to join their Labour Centre in Polokwane. What You’ll Do
- Plan and independently conduct substantive inspections to ensure compliance with labour legislation.
- Execute investigations on reported violations and represent the department as a State witness in court when necessary.
- Conduct proactive inspections regularly to monitor compliance and compile detailed reports from inspections.
- Lead advocacy campaigns to promote awareness of labour legislation in the community.
- Manage case files and ensure thorough follow-up on investigations conducted by inspectors.
- Contribute to the planning and maintenance of regional inspection plans and assist in compiling statistical reports related to labour law cases.
What You’ll Need
- A three-year National Diploma (NQF 6) or an Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF 7) in Labour Relations, Labour Law, LLB, or BCOM Law.
- At least two years of functional experience in Inspection and Enforcement Services.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of departmental policies, labour legislation, and relevant acts such as the Employment Services Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Excellent skills in planning, organizing, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
