About the Role
The South African Police Service is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Supply Chain Clerk based in Persequor Park, Lynnwood, Pretoria. This vital position plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of fuel management for state vehicles, which serves the community by supporting law enforcement activities across the region. Working closely with various divisions and provincial commissioners, the Supply Chain Clerk will handle exception reports, administer fuel cards and e-tags, and analyze transaction reports, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of public service.

By managing fuel certification inquiries and collaborating with multiple departments, you will help enhance the operational capabilities of the police force, ensuring they have the resources necessary to keep our communities safe.

What You’ll Do
- Handle exception reports received from the fuel card contractor for Head Office Divisions and Provincial Commissioners.
- Administer fuel cards and e-tags in the SAPS for state vehicles.
- Manage fuel certification inquiries from provinces and divisions, comparing them with the asset register of state vehicles.
- Analyze transaction reports and statements regarding fuel transactions for provinces and divisions.
- Utilize knowledge of Provisioning Administration System (PAS) and Police Financial Management System (Polfin) to fulfill job responsibilities.
What You’ll Need
- Competency in the core functions of the post.
- Proficiency in at least English and one other official language.
- South African citizenship with documentary proof required at the interview.
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification (NQF level 4 as recognized by SAQA).
- Relevant courses in the field of supply chain management will be an advantage.
- General computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, administration, and problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and willingness to extend working hours.
